Re: Photo Aviatik B.I

Hello,

Currently on ebay there is a photo of, I believe, an early Aviatik B.I (P15) although frankly it might just be an LVG B.I in a tree at:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WW1-Germa...YAAOSw3C5e09UQ

Can anyone read the numbers on the tail at all?

Regards,

Clint

Hello,

Currently on ebay is a photo of Aviatik B.I (P 14) B.107/14 named Cassel at:

This is an interesting find as I've not previously seen this serial on any published lists (unless anyone knows otherwise).

Re: Photo Aviatik B.I

Hi Bertrand,

B.665/14 makes a lot of sense, in so far as it too was an Aviatik B.I. Thanks for the assistance. A nice little collection from that seller.

Clint

Re: Photo Aviatik B.I

Interesting set of photos

Clint
Given the more than usual useless information from the seller, how do you make the connection to FFA 34?

Also why do you suggest B.707/14 as the plausible one?

Bertrand
Nice try as usual. With the known B.I batches, I would go for the B.665/14

Cheers
Stig

Re: Photo Aviatik B.I

Hello Stig,

As for FFA 34, both B.707/14 and B.352/14 are known to have served with that unit. Johan Ryheul in KEKs and Fokkerstaffels P.181 has a photo of B.707/14 having been shot down while crewed by Ltn.d.R. Fritz Rößler and Vfw Arntzen. The former name is on the back of one of the photos, as I believe, on another seperate photo is the writing B707, if I recall correctly. A photo of B.352/14 was posted on the Aerodrome in the past also.I think given Bertrand's photo we all agree B.665/14 and given the other aircraft I think we can provisionally asign that too to FFA 34.

Regards,

Clint
