FW-190 Indentity

The attached photo appeared in the Japanese Tank Magazine Special- Luftwaffe Aces in 1989. The source is supposed to be the Bundesarchive. I have not seen this photo anywhere else. Can anyone provide additional information including a translation of the caption?

Re: FW-190 Indentity

From the markings visible, I would say Chris Goss is your man in this case.

Don't know his linguistic qualifications in this case, but I would say he could probably write "a book" about the photo anyway....

Cheers
Stig

Re: FW-190 Indentity

No translation, but the aircraft belongs to the Adjutant of Schlachtgeschwader 1, probably Russia, 1943

What event would result in THAT damage to the aircraft? The tail wheel retract cable was snapped under extreme tension, and the upper assembly is protruding from the vertical stab.

Hello Del. Hope you are well. I can't translate the caption but I know where the aircraft was made. This is a G, or an A version most likely an "8", produced at Marienburg by Focke Wulf.

Re: FW-190 Indentity

Thank you all for your input .Translating the Japanese caption provides no insight. It merely describes what is evident in the photo. The photo is from a series of 3 - the other 2 show the condition of the cockpit. What I can tell from the photo is that it is either an F-3 or A-5/6 from Schlachtgeschwader 1 probably from 1943. I can't tell for sure whether it is "Winkel Dreieck " or a "Winkel with another symbol behind it. There is a "Dreieck" (Triangle) in front of the Balkenkreuz and an infantry assault badge under the cockpit. It is not clear if the aircraft was shot up in the air or on the ground
Starting from that base of information what else can be added?
