help needed - Lw. Glider crew - loss

Hello,

I am looking for confirmation in Lw. Loss lists for the following day:

03.11.1943

The Glider (Go 242) flewn by Ofw. Zahn crashed on the airfield Warwaronka (near Nikolajew). During this crash both the pilot and co-pilot got killed.

Is there anyone who can confirm this loss by official Lw. loss lists ?

Thank you in advance,

Re: help needed - Lw. Glider crew - loss

Hello,

The correct pilots name = Ofw. Erwin Zahn and his BM was indeed Fw. Hans Brandenburg.

The lisiting of 55 fluggäste can not possibly be correct, as that Go 242 would have been overloaded multiple ways.

Does the WN stands for Werknummer ?

It is also very interesting to see that they are already listed as members of teh Schleppgruppe 2 (wich is correct offcoarse)

I have sent you a PM on this very subject

Cordial greetings + thank you once again,

Hi.

The personnel mentioned here were listed as belonging to Schlepp Gr. 2 at this point.

Please see the entire loss record here:

http://www.ahs.no/ref_db/lw_loss_pub...?lossid=105010

The loss record lists the load as consisting of 55 persons in addition to the 2 person crew.

Regards,
Andreas
