Fw Winkler of 3./JG 54 lost on 11 February 1943
Hello,
I'm searching the name of the pilot of the Fw 190 A-4 WNr 2309 of 3./JG 54 shot down by Soviet AA fire in Suluzk area on 11 February 1943. According to Rosipal's JG 54 loss list, the pilot was an Uffz Winkler, no fist name given. He was killed. In Tony's Wood claim list, there was an Uffz Hand-Joachim Winkler of 3./JG 54 who claimed two victories, on 15 January and 10 February 1943. But in Prien's recent book, the claim of the 15 January is attributed to Gefr. Karl Kulka, and there is none listed for Winkler. This book stops before 10 February 1943, so I can't check the second claim. In the Volksbund database, there is an Uffz Johann Winkler who died on 11 February 1943 and who is buried in Sologubowka, in the general area of JG 54 operations. So he could be this lost pilot too. Can someone give me the first name of this pilot, and confirm the family name ? Thanks in advance |
