P38 of 49th Squadron /14.Group

I'm looking for information about a P38J, serial number 43-28261 flown by 2nd Lt. Quentin A. Teige on May 24th, 1944. The plane was shoot down by a Messerschmitt Me110 on that day over Lower Austria. Please see my post in subforum about the Luftwaffe.
I got the number of MACR. It is 5184, but I do not know the content. Teige's plane was part of 306th Wing/14th Fighter Group/49th Squadron.
I'm looking for any kind of information regarding that case like pictures of plane and pilot.
Thanks for any help,

Kurtl

Re: P38 of 49th Squadron /14.Group

Hi,

You have me puzzled.

The only Quentin A. Teige that I could find in the NARA enlistment's was born in 1895. Enlisted on 6-6-1939. From Marinette, Wisconsin. This would make his age as 46 years old in 1944 when this P38 went down.
Could this be one and the same man ? Service number 06835370.
Two other younger men named Teige, Milton and Charles also joined up from the same State were they Quentin's sons ? as he is listed as a widower.

Alex

Hello Alex,

Thanks for your response. I do not know if we are talking about the same men. How old were the USAAF fighter pilots at usual? I found a different number about "my" Quentin A Teige: #0-758887. Do you have this? Can you tell me what your source says about this number?

Thanks,

Kurtl
