Thumbs up Edward Corringham "Mick" Mannock VC, DSO & Two Bars, MC & Bar

Wish I'd have thought of it!
I was wondering if I could ask you all to sign the following petition to help Identify one of our most highly decorated fighter pilots, an Ace no less. Currently resting in a grave named only as "A British Airman Of the First World War". Please help make this petition viral by signing, sharing and generating as much interest as possible...

Signed, plus wife; also posted now on RAFCommands forum. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Question: why is a man with the VC and 61 victories in an unmarked grave? Surely he deserved better? Irish politics?

John,
As far as I am aware, it was a failure to identify the body when it was eventually recovered. That the Unknown is in fact Mannock is supposition, based on research by Norman Franks and Andy Saunders.

Enjoy!

Frank.
