Re: Eric Larger brutally passed away!

My thoughts are with the family he leaves behind.

This is black day for the community.

This really is sad news. Like many others here, I was in touch with Eric just a couple of weeks ago.

Unbelieveable, is not it? My heartiest condolences to the family. I hope that Eric's projects will be continued as a tribute to him.

Re: Eric Larger has passed away

I was un-able to find a copy of Focke-Wulf Fw 190D Camo & Markings Part 1, so I posted a thread for help trying to locate one.

Eric PM'ed me, Give me your address and I'll send you one.

That was from a man I'd never met. He didn't know me at all, I was just Revi16 on the Forum.

Truly inspiring, God Bless.

Regards,
Mike

SALUTE!!! Very good man and researcher flown his last flight! If there is GOD, I bet he is his wingman on while both are enjoying Dora 9s.

I met Eric a long time ago, maybe some 15 years, when I started to rolling around aviation research, and he was always helpful and open minded. We changed some information. Mailed a lot. In his last email, some 2 weeks ago he send me some new data he found about JG 2 pilots regarding march 2, 1945 missions - my piece of cake. Not even asking whether I want it (appreciated it MUCH). He just posted it, with note, that he hopes I will enjoy it.
I enjoyed every communication with him.
ERIC! SALUTE and RIP!

Yes, this is a terrible loss to the community and it will be felt for sometime; just like the loss of the late Ronnie Putz. Like many on this board, I too corresponded with Eric, and I helped him out with Vol.II and Vol.III as well as his He.162 project. Hopefully someone with the same desire and ethics will carry the torch so we "all" can benefit from the fruits of sharing information because lets face it, life is too short.

As for Mr. Hopp's comments about pulling the finger out of the proverbial "hole", easier said then done, right?

Re: Eric Larger has passed away

I 'met' Eric on line a number of years ago when we were both looking to expand our knowledge in this field we're all interested in. We exchanged information over a period of time, but sadly lost contact, my fault, not his. Somehow I think benefited more than he, but he was ever the gentleman in our correspondence. My sincerest condolences go out to his family.

What a delicate thread we hang by. I always enjoyed conversing with Eric. God welcome him and be with his surviving family. He will be missed.

Re: Eric Larger has passed away

Hello All,

I don't get around to visiting all the discussion boards as much as I used to - but this news is a shock and a real blow.

I had the pleasure of meeting Eric some 15 years ago. He twice visited England and stayed with my wife and I at our home. I remember a very funny evening driving around the English countryside in pouring rain in the dead of winter in pitch darkness. It was a foul night. Eddie Creek was driving, I was trying to map read and Arthur Bentley was in the back of the car with Eric. We were trying to find a pub - and unbelieveably, couldn't. All I remember from the back seat was this very amusing French accent: 'Mon Dieu! Weee'll we never find a bluurrdy Onglish peub??' Priceless.

He always used to say that Luftwaffe camouflage was a subject of 'complete madness' (French accent again). He was also a font of enthusiasm.

Sad news for our community.
