Loss Sgt. J. K. Holden 56. Sqn RAF 02.02.1945

Hello,

looking for all Informations regarding the Loss of Sergeant John Kenneth Holden, 56. Sqn RAF (2. TAF) on 02. February 1945 near Elze / Hildesheim after hitting the ground during "Railway Attack".
(especially Details for these Mission / Area / Mission No....)

Hello streak98,

according to German documents (Abschussnummer/casualty no. J 2931) the Tempest JN806 US-G hit the ground at 11.10 hrs 2 km northeast of Elze, 15 km west of Hildesheim, 100% damage. The pilot was found dead and buried on 2 Feb 1945 at the cemetery Hildesheim.

Hi Frankie and Leo,

Thanks again for your Help in that case... The Area of the Loss is well known for me, it is in the vicinity of my village.
Otherwise I cannot find many Details about this Loss, especially Documents for the Mission from 56. Sqn... ORB for this day is known....

Hello all. Serial number of the Tempest was JN808.
