E pen pictures
Morning all,
I wonder if anyone has or knows where I can get a picture of either a Hurricane or Spitfire in an E-pen, with the wings tethered down using the steel rings that were concreted into the bases of the pens. I am sure that this was to protect the aircraft in high winds. I hope that makes sense! I have trawled through various books that I have and can't find one. Many thnks in advance for help you may be able to offer. Best wshes Gerry |

Re: E pen pictures
Gerry,
Picture on this website http://www.raf.mod.uk/history_old/hurri5.html shows a Hurricane in a pen, but it looks not to be tethered down. On page 8 of story, it looks there's a Hurricane tied down with steel chains, but not in a pen, on an airfield in Burma. Both conditions, but alas not together! Leendert |

Re: E pen pictures
Many thanks for the link.
The picture of the Hurricane in the pen is great, pity that it is not tethered down. Thanks for posting the link though. Gerry |
