Re: 42-94972 448th BG "Daisy Mae"

Phil,

Lt O'Neil and crew are commemorated at the Tablets of the Missing at Cambridge which may suggest that their a/c was lost over sea.

Lt O'Neil is still among those listed as MIA on http://www.dtic.mil/dpmo/WWII_MIA/AAF_M_O.HTM

Regards,

Leendert

Re: 42-94972 448th BG "Daisy Mae"

Phil,

This plane is not mentioned on the lists, obtained from NARA, as salvaged on the continent. They only mention for the bombers for 7/01/1945: 42-51235 B24 392 BG and 41-51349 B24 448 BG. For the only B17 ,for 7/01/1945, on the list (44-6131 96 BG) there is mentioned : ran off end of runway & nosed over.

Best regards from another side of Belgium

Luc
