Ofw Franz Rueckel & Fw Heinz Weiss, 28.07.44, Normandy?
I have a copy of an RAF report (AIR2/8738, 68,) that these two men were killed North East of Staint Lo on 28.07.44, can anyone help with their unit and aircraft please.

Do 217 K-1, 4418, U5+BH of 1/KG 2. Onlt Hans Peters-+, Ofw Willi Stuewe returned wounded were the other 2

Hi Joe and Chris,
A little more from Ulf Balke's KG2 history: Pilot Oblt Hans Peters +, Observer Obfw Willi Stüwe (wounded), Gunner Fw Heinz Weiss (missing) all awarded the German Cross in Gold. Radio/Op Franz Rückel +. Sorry Joe I do not have a WASt report for this one! Regards, Melvin.
