Re: LW Ukrainian volunteer unit?
The author of the book linked to is a less than reliable source for any historical information.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Collin I unfortunately bought his first military history attempt , Mussolini’s War and found it riddled with errors and quite slanted in its approach. While I was interested in the subject of the Air forces book, the Mussolini work made me steer clear of anything he’s written since. |

Quote:
Now here is the oddity: the Wehrmacht Heereskarten used by all branches during the war retained the local place names given by the colonists and never deviated from this. So we read in the wartime campaign documents and literature that the Panzers were advancing toward Karlsruhe from Katherinental (17.75 km west of the Bug River and 45 km NW of Nikolayev), we are kind of at a loss without specialized gazetteers and maps. Re: LW Ukrainian volunteer unit?
Frank Joseph is the same person as Frank Collin. To hide his past, he has been using his first and middle name as a pen name. From the Wiki article I originally posted: Quote:

The Amazon page for Axis Air Forces states this: Quote:
Frank Collin, former president of the National Socialist Party of America among other things is the same person as Frank Joseph, new age author and military author. And from reading Mussolini's War, I can only conclude his political views haven't changed much from his time as NS president. |
