Kommando Rowehl
I was wondering if there are any books or any research
material available on Kommando Rowehl ,specifically 3.(F) 121 such as details on bases during period June 22 through September 1941. Also if anyone has research material or information where Westa 7 (Wettererkungsstaffel ) was based from June through September 1941. Thanks in advance |

Re: Kommando Rowehl
Nick
Thank you so much for the links and yes I read German, although the books cover general information rather than specific on Kommando Rowehl missions , Of particular interest to me is the destiny of a DO-215 of the 3.(F) Group 121 shot down by a Soviet pilot near Sevastopol on 23.7.41 ...I am in touch with his family and we trying o put beats and pieces together. Larry Zeng, thans for the info though the info is not useful coze I have internet and I searched already through search engines, thanks anyways Basically I am still at square 1 and I am affraight both of your feedbacks are not bringing me any further. Actually I would appreciate info from books and not Net search engines . Thanks anyways Last edited by researcher111; 9th July 2013 at 18:03. |

Re: Kommando Rowehl
Hi Researcher - terribly sorry we took up your time. Unfortunately, that often happens when people making enquiries are less than forthcoming about what they have already researched and the specific information they seek.
Trusting you will forgive us, Larry deZeng |

Re: Kommando Rowehl
So it's a good thing that I referred you to two books, both of which I own, and that Larry gave you the benefit of his decades of research into the organisational structure of the Luftwaffe. No search engines involved in either case.

Re: Kommando Rowehl
Larry
Your efforts and these of Nick of course are greatly appreciate , I have many books towards my reserch area and in various cases some of books just cover less than 20 % of the subject. To what extent is Kommando Rowehl specifically covered on the mentioned books. To my knowledge there are no books on that Recon Group, probably one of the most secret groups of the Lufwaffe. There is a boook called "Ein Blick in die Vergangenheit " which I posses and covers just a little. The groups of my interest is 3.(F) 121 which was located between June through Sept 1941 in Romania and again in 1944 at the same location. |

Re: Kommando Rowehl
Hi,
For those interested in Rowehl there is another book in German callled: "Die fliegenden Augen des Oberst Rowehl". See: http://www.amazon.de/fliegenden-Auge.../dp/3981364937 (No mention of 3.(F)/Aufklärungsgruppe 121 as far as I can see). PS. Still loking for Siegfried Knemeyer information who was, amongst a lot of other roles, a member of Kommando Rowehl.

Many thanks, I have that book though the single book which slightly covers the 121 Group is the one I've previously mentioned. Only the 121 Group of 3.(F) is of interest for my research. Thanks again Last edited by researcher111; 10th July 2013 at 13:38. |

Re: Kommando Rowehl
Unfortunately then, it is unlikely that there is anybody else who can help you with your very specific questions unless there is a KTB and even then, noted researchers and historians such as Nick and especially Larry would have had access to them.
