Re: AEG C.IV Photos

Hi Clint

Initially the Polish AF used for quite some time the former identities of their aircraft, Out of 91 recorded AEG C.IV taken over only 12 received a "proper" Polish serial. Strangely enough 7123/17 was one of them, becoming 5.3 in 1919. Last recorded in use on 30 Jan 1920

Cheers
Stig

Re: AEG C.IV Photos

Hello,

Currently on ebay a photo of an overturned AEG C.IV at:

https://www.ebay.de/itm/Foto-WK-I-Fl...sAAOSw6FFevohJ

https://www.ebay.de/itm/Foto-WK-I-Fl...cAAOSwaJhevoiD

I really would value opinions on the serial nunber. I believe that the number before the 22/17 may be an 8 and the aircraft possibly C.4822/17. Any opinions?

Regards,

Clint

Re: AEG C.IV Photos

That's a bit odd Clint

If I should try and read something I would say 1742.
Mix up perhaps of the digits?

Cheers
Stig

Re: AEG C.IV Photos

Hi Stig,

No, not necessarily. The serial number is so unclear that I can't see it properly. If you're fairly confident you're seeing 1742/16 then I'm happy to go with that. Perhaps even more so as I already have an image of 1724/17 but not 1742/17.

Regards,

Clint
