C-54A - 42-72171 - 28-8-1944

Looking for info on crash and casualties of a C-54A serial 42-72171 of Air Transport Command 28-8-1944 near Prestwick.
One of the fatal casualties was 2/Lt Vivianna Cronin of 818 Medical Air Evacuation Trnansport Squadron buried in the Cambridge US Mil. Cem.

Golden was an American Airlines captain attached to Air Transport Command. He is on the long list of names in the dedication to Ernest K Gann's classic Fate is the Hunter.

British Civilian casualties 28 August, 1944:

Robert Alexander HANDYSIDE (aged 44)
Irene Agnes HASWELL (aged 5)
Thomas KINNEAR (aged 22)
Thomas George MAITLAND (aged 43)
William Kenneth SNOWDON (aged 24)

All died at 6 Hillside Avenue, Prestwick. (4 lodgers and 1 child).
