Junker Ju87R-2 5884

All,

Trying to find out any more info on this bird as Ju87's are being discussed at the moment.

I know about her loss, location and claim. Also crew, unit etc etc.
Trying to establish the following points.

Recorded as an R-2. Not sure if she was a Trop.
Built 1941 at Weserflug.
Issued to I/StG5
Coded with white letter 1./StG5? (possibly 10./LG1 before.
Any idea of Stammkennzeichen??

Just looking for construction info, previous identity?

regards,

Mark

WNr.5881 was listed as an R-1/trop, the remainder of the 588x series are listed as R-2

Stammkennzeichen: BC+EB

This is a bit odd

Has new evidence appeared from somewhere?
From old stated "facts" WNr 5881 is in the middle of a B-2/R-2 production run and I have it as an R-2. I have listed the switch between the B-1/R-1 production to the -2 model already at WNr 5562.

I would be very happy if you or someone else could expand a bit regarding this.

Also how far did the WNr range go? I have a last positively identified R-4 as WNr 6446, while other sources has indicated the WNr range all the way to 7069 without giving any sub-version details. Anyone who knows?

Cheers
Stig

Re: Junker Ju87R-2 5884

Thanks GRM for the Stkz.

Been looking at the R-2 and seems they were ongoing summer 1941. It looks as though 5884 was completed/upgraded as an R-2 in April 1941?

Looks like she was issued to IV. (Stuka) /LG.1 at the start of Barbarossa before being recoded with 1./StG.5.

regards,

Mark
