235 Sq - Beaufighter VI EL330 - lost over Biscay - 1st Dec 42
FAO Chris Goss and others who may be able to help
Interested in any info regarding the circumstances of the above loss. Crew was Sgt Alf Keeling and Sgt J Crook. MIA. For info on Keeling see http://www.bantamspast.co.uk/TheGlor...orkeeling.html Have been in touch with Ross McNeil who has given some info from his forthcoming book - Coastal Command Losses Vol 2. Any further info regarding nature and circumstances of the loss of this crew, the operation and encounter on the 1st Dec 42 will be most appreciated. Thanks in anticipation. |

8/JG 2 claimed 5 Beaufighters that day, 248 lost 3 in the morning, 235 Sqn 2 in the afternoon. Oddly there were 4 claims for the morning and just Fw Rudolf Eisele (1454 hrs). Possibly Uffz Leopold Groiss was the other claimant

Thank you gentlemen.
The football club have a museum and are doing displays on former players who were killed in both wars. This adds some useful info to Keeling's story. |

my grandad is the actual 'john crook' i have all the records from the mod regarding the loss/mia and would be very happy to share
