Have been in touch with Ross McNeil who has given some info from his forthcoming book - Coastal Command Losses Vol 2.

8/JG 2 claimed 5 Beaufighters that day, 248 lost 3 in the morning, 235 Sqn 2 in the afternoon. Oddly there were 4 claims for the morning and just Fw Rudolf Eisele (1454 hrs). Possibly Uffz Leopold Groiss was the other claimant

Thank you gentlemen.

The football club have a museum and are doing displays on former players who were killed in both wars. This adds some useful info to Keeling's story.
