Re: German losses 10/11 Sep 1942 - Hopsten
All,
The next one .... was there any German aircraft lost on the evening of the 10/11 Sep 1942 at Hopsten, again a Intruder claim from 23 squadron. The pilot states; The e/a appeared to slow down, we overshot and a did a complete orbit as the e/a hit the ground and burst into flames, scattering burning pieces circled it’. Thanks Danny

Re: German losses 10/11 Sep 1942 - Hopsten
I have the combat as 2250 hrs between Twente and Enschede which is not near Hopsten? It appears what they attacked crashed on or near the airfield at Twente. There was a 5./NJG 1 loss that night apparently in combat but this crashed nowhere near. However, a Bf 110 F-4 of Stab./NJG 1 came down at Twente on 11 Sep 42 but recorded as non-combat. Aircraft damaged and crew uninjured

Re: German losses 10/11 Sep 1942 - Hopsten
Thanks Chris, yes you are totally right, they moved onto Hopsten after Twente was uneventful, they then went back to Twente when the Lorenz came on later on in the sortie.
Cheers mate!
