Hello,
In addition this NARA POW page ( http://aad.archives.gov/aad/display-...&mtch=328&pg=1 ) will show the POWs of 19th July 1944, some 33 pages ten on a page.
several died as POWs and at least three perhaps executed.

BUT your man may not even have been a POW he may well pre being killed, have been an evader .

This book gives the story of the execution of Ortsgruppenleiter
Heinrich Gradl in 1945.
Possibly gives the name of the canadian airman.
