Re: 3./KG27 losses 5 June 1940

Hi Brian , just to add a little information about Ofw Reinhold Boer's crew , on 1.04.41 his HE111 " 1G+HL" crashed into the sea off St.David's Head , Wales . His crew were Fw Hans Hegemann , Fw Willi Eckold , Fw Albert Ullmann and Geft. Heinz Dahmen . Reinhold Boer and Albert Ullmann survived and were taken prisoners , sadly the rest of the crew were killed . Some time later their bodies were washed up on the coast of Southern Ireland . They now are buried in the German War Graveyard , Glencree , Co. Wicklow .
Fw Rudolf Hengst who flew with Reinhold Boer on 5 June , 1940 was transferred to another crew , he too crashed on 3.03.41 in Co.Wexford , Ireland . Rudolf and the rest of the crew were interned until August , 1945 .
I was lucky to have been in contact with "Rudi" for many years and met him at his home in Germany .
I also have a photo of Reinhold Boer's crew if you are interested in a copy Brian.

Hi Schnellmeyer

Many thanks for your response. Yes, I would very much appreciate a copy of the photo you mention - a scan would be fine - my e-mail address is briancullauthor@fsmail.net

Did Rudi mention to you his experiences of 5 June 1940? If so, I would appreciate an account.

Thanks again
Brian
