Re: LW loss of He 111, 15 October 1943 Kozinka
Yep, the following 515 IAP pilots got shared (1/4) credit for a He 111 at Kozinka on October 15, 1943:
ст.л-т Бахаев Степан Антонович (1Lt. Stephan Antonovich Bahaev, 1922) - 1/4 He 111 victory ст.л-т Трясак Михаил Федорович (1Lt. Mikhail Fedorovich Tryasak, 1918) - 1/4 He 111 victory м-р Тюлькин Михаил Николаевич (Maj. Mikhail Nikolaevich Tulkin, 1918) - 1/4 He 111 victory Not sure about the 4th pilot. The plane could be the one in Matti's comment. Gabor |

Superb, many thanks Friends. Bahaev is a pet project of mine but I woefully short of reference material.

Re: LW loss of He 111, 15 October 1943 Kozinka
Bahaev scored this He 111 still in his Yak-1B fighter. Very often he flew in a flight of 4 (6) Yak-1Bs. Later the 515 IAP got re-armed with newer Yak-9 and Yak-3 models. Some of their losses:
April 1, 1942: Yak-1, S/N: 1535 (15-35, or 15-292-35) January 28, 1945: Yak-3, S/N: 2811 (28-292-11) Yak-9, S/N: 1515399 Yak-9, S/N: 1415391 (MIA) January 31, 1945: Yak-9, S/N: 0915334 (MIA) Gabor |

Many thanks Gabor. I believe he flew the Yak-9U in the closing months of WW2.

Re: LW loss of He 111, 15 October 1943 Kozinka
Well, if so, then Bahaev's plane number was most likely some: yy166xx from Omsk, Russia. Different aircraft factories made their AC serials in different ways:
Yak-1B: xxyyy (Factory 292, Saratov, Russia), eg: 33192, a 17 VA, 611 IAP Yak-1B, in which Capt. Mikhail Fedorovich Batarov belly landed near Székesfehérvár, Hungary on January 4, 1945. (See attached pic.) Ya-9B,-9D,-9T,-9M: yy153xx (Factory 153, Novosibirsk, Russia), eg: 2315371, a Yak-9D, in which 5 VA, 150 GvIAP guards-1Lt. Grigorii Yakovlevich Bekkerman was downed at Kóka, Hungary on November 16, 1944. Yak-9D,-9U: yy166xxx (Factory 166, Omsk, Russia), eg. a Yak-9U: 42166074 in which famous 5 VA, 151 GvIAP ace, Egor Vasilevich Vasilevskii guards-captain was downed on April 17, 1945 over Rapovice, Czech. Yak-3: xxyy, or xx292yy (Factory 292, Saratov, Russia), eg: 17 VA, 866 IAP Yak-3, 1415, or 1429215 lost in January, 1945 in Hungary. Yak-3: 31yyxx (Factory 31, Tbilisi, Georgia), eg: 310118, in which Lt. Alexandr Yosifovich Salnikov (17 VA, 611 IAP) was KIA near Wiener Neustadt, Austria on April 1, 1945. Where: y = digits of the batch no. x = digits of the plane within that batch (Some docs used only their "short version", ignoring their factory part.) For Bahaev's combat career: On August 31, 1943 with a flight of 4 Yak-1Bs he downed a (shared) Fw 189 recce. plane at Chuguev. On September 10, 1943 while escorting IL-2s with his flight of 4 Yak-1Bs, he engaged a flight of 4 Me 109s, attacking the IL-2s and downed one of them at Trofimovka-S. On January 30, 1945 in the vicinity of Swibus from 4 Fw 190 and 2 Me 109 he downed 2 Fw 190s while his wingman downed one. On February 28, 1945 flying a Yak-9, he downed a Ju 87 at the airfield of Finofurt-SW. On March 18, 1945 he doubled again at Szczecin (Stettin), Poland downing 2 Fw 190s.
