Sergeant Jupp 218 Squadron

Hi,

Hoping for some help with a pilot that for the last three years has eluded me.

A Sergeant Jupp served on 218 Squadron pre-war and up until Jan/Feb 1940 when he returned home sick. I have no service number, or Christian name, he simply vanishes. Given that the surname is unusual I would have thought it would have been easy. I have checked the CWGR, there is a couple 'possible' but I think I have exhausted what I can do.

Hoping this name may ring a few bells?

TIA

Steve

Re: Sergeant Jupp 218 Squadron

The Gazette lists a number of Jupps who were commissioned which is always a possibility. None on the POW list commissioned or NCO

Re: Sergeant Jupp 218 Squadron

Are you talking about 20 pages of 8 names or 40 pages, or 60?

If you go through them and eliminate men by serial number blocks you will narrow down a lot.

I once spent an entire weekend reveiwing the 100's of Jones names.
