Re: abandoned wrecks?

It appears that the Allied cooperation seen in MAAF captured enemy aircraft reports was not continued in Western Europe and there were seperate teams and reports by the RAF and USAAF. If the area was occupied by the US, there might have been reports, but the ones I have seen were not as thorough as the RAF ones, but they did include W.Nr. and in one case (the original field report), the tag from one of the aircraft. I have been able to locate only a very few of these reports, they do not seem to be at College Park, NASM, HRA, etc. If anyone has a lead as to where they are and seen either the reports or a reference to them, I would greatly appreciate that information.

Best Regards,

Artie Bob

Re: abandoned wrecks?

Hi Artie,

Do you recall any of the details for the plane whose actual tag was included with the field report? Might you have a picture of that tag?

I'd welcome seeing pictures of any plates or tags that you are able to share.

Thank you,
Steve
