Re: Dyce Station Log Entry 23 August 1940

Hi Chris,

Bill Sise crashed on his first familiarisation trip in a 254 Blenheim with William Bain his flight commander in attendance.

Accident Form at RAFM for Blenheim is blank with the words "Taken 1947" hence it does not appear in Warners Blenheim Bible either.

Just thought that their might have been something written up for it in the station log. I'll go with what I have from his son.

Cheers

Andy B

Re: Dyce Station Log Entry 23 August 1940

Andy,

The date should be the 25th. The 254 Squadron ORB has nothing on this accident. The only source I found for this incident was the Form 1180 Aircraft Accident Form. Out of interest I have the ranks as Pilot Officer Sise RNZAF and Acting Flight Lieutenant Bain. Would you agree with that ?

Chris,

I had made a note that I would like to check the Dyce ORB on this accident. Is there anything on the 25th about this aircraft ?

Regards,

Martin Gleeson.
