Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Large numbers of so called War Prizes were distributed to all corners of the "Empire". Reason was probably to show many of them to the public while the more exotic types were used for testing etc.

Why Canada received at least two Me 262 was probably only for a show off.
None was made airworthy and tested as far as I know.

Cheers
Stig

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Re # 1694-Another image of this a/c in War Prizes, pg 103, before RAF markings. Reported as W.Nr. 190327, 1H+GT, Ju 188 A-2, although it appears most, if not all, Ju 188s in this sequence were A-3s. This would make sense, as it ended up at Gosport supposedly for torpedo dropping trials.

Hs 129 B-2 (WNr. 141407) St.Kz. PH+UQ, probably from Fliegerzielgeschwader 3, found abandoned damaged at Frankfurt-Rebstock after 8 May 1945. Information courtesy of Steve Sheflin
