Re: 2./JG51 Pilot

Nothing on Pflaus, the closest I have is:

Uffz. Erich Pflaum of 2./JG 51, who claimed an Il-2m3 on 15.August 1943 at PlQu. 51 852: 800m [östlich Bogoduchow]

Re: I/JG51 Pilot

Hi Guys

I have the claim for 15th August 1943 for Erwin Pflaum not Erich

He was born on 12th June 1920. On 29th September 1942 he was shot down and injured in combat with Russian aircraft, his Fw190 coming down in the region of Luban, Russia. On 30th January 1944 he was killed in his Bf109 flying for 11./Jg11 as a Feldwebel.

Two confirmed claims with 2./JG 51 as an Unteroffizier:-

15th August 1943 Il-2 near Olshany 1037 hrs at 800 metres Nr.1
18th September 1943 Jak-7 1327 hrs at 100 metres Nr.2

Regards

Johannes

Re: I/JG51 Pilot

Hmmm

Do we have TWO Pflaum in 2,/JG 51 (or one in 1./JG 51) as the Kracker list indicates or is this one and the same man?
Johannes answer indicates that he believes there is no Erich but just one Erwin.

Cheers
Stig

I./JG 51 Pilot

Hi guys

He appears in a photograph published on page 71 of Jagdgeschwader 51 Mölders Eine Bilddokumentation über die Jahre 1938-1945 by Stipdonk and Meyer. He was serving with 2./JG 51 when wounded in aerial combat in Fw 190 A-3 (W.Nr. 0132 278) which crashed near Ljuban on 29 September 1942 according to Prien. The same source also has only one victory listed for him this being on 15 August 1943. My impression is that he was the same fellow serving with 4./JG 53 when lost in aerial combat in Bf 109 G-6/R1 (W.Nr. 140 088) north of Udine on 30 January 1944. Any comments or corrections will be very appreciated.

Horrido!

Leo
