New? Arado 234 UK recon flight (footnote for Nick)

At TNA on Saturday and found a summary of GAF Reconnaissance in Ic Report 3440/45 of 1 March 1945 [translation, reproduced in AIR 14/3009]. Ar 234 1100-1310 Hrs. PR of the Humber mouth and Hull. Mission broken off 5 kms E of Hull because of shortage of fuel. Results: 1203-1205 Hrs. About 2 km North of Grumsby, 1 convoy consisting of 1 Liberty ship; 7000 tones, 16 large landing boats; 1 medium landing boat, 1 small landing boat, 3 patrol boats. Extent of the convoy approx 6 km. 3 Patrol boats eastward course.

CG Note No Unit cited, but clearly 1/123. Interesting to see same day (28 Feb) LwKdo West order was for cover of ‘A the Humber Estuary’ [Beale website].

Cheers

Chris

Personally I like my new Humberside town of Grumsby, but in the interests of
accuracy have to correct it to Grimsby.

Is Grumsby near Kungston-upon-Hill?
Thanks for the info, it never occurred to me to look in AIR14 for Ar 234 material.
