Unit indentification needed

Hi all,
can anybody help me the following unit abbreviation:

FWD 50 it later became LFWA V/50

There were mostly courier flights. Any thoughts are welcome.

Re: Unit indentification needed

LFWA could be Luftwaffe Feld Werft Abteilung = Luftwaffe Field Workshop Battalion and the "V" may be "verlegbar" which is mobile (but not as mobile as "mot." = "motorised").

Or I'm completely wrong …

Hi Nick,
not a bad idea. I think the V is the roman numeral for 5.

If it's upper case then yes, I'm sure you are right.

My theory would work better if it was in lower case.
