Unit indentification needed
Hi all,
can anybody help me the following unit abbreviation: FWD 50 it later became LFWA V/50 There were mostly courier flights. Any thoughts are welcome. Norbert

LFWA could be Luftwaffe Feld Werft Abteilung = Luftwaffe Field Workshop Battalion and the "V" may be "verlegbar" which is mobile (but not as mobile as "mot." = "motorised").
Or I'm completely wrong …

not a bad idea. I think the V is the roman numeral for 5. Norbert

I think I can say for shure now that is indeed Luftwaffe Feldwerftabteilung.
