Mixed detachment of III/JG52 in Stalingrad battle
Gentlemen,
Who can shed some light on how many Bf-109s of III/JG52 were sent to Stalingrad under Decker, later Graf on August 19, 1942? Open sources are all silent regarding actual strength of the detachment. TIA |

according to B.Barbas new book of III./JG52 each staffel detached one swarm: 7.Staffel - Ofw. Zwernemann, Fw. Dammers, Uffz. Meier, Uffz. Koppe 8.Staffel - Olt. Deckert, Lt. Funcke, Uffz. Ermisch, Uffz. Hohenberg; later also: Uffz. Schumacher, Uffz. Lotzmann and Fw. Wachowiak 9.Staffel - Olt. Graf, Ofw. Fuellgrabe, Uffz. Kalb, Ofw. Suess and later also Uffz. Wolf First CO was Olt. Decker and following his death Hptm. Graf. Regards Robert |

Thanks a lot for info! One remark, Decker was captured not dead, later died in POW camp. |
