eBay: some interesting Bf109 photos.

Hi fellow enthusiats!

1. http://www.ebay.de/itm/Foto-Flugzeug...item3f3efd889d

2. http://www.ebay.de/itm/4-Fotos-Flugz...item2ed82fcc0e

As for 1:
If reading well the backside comment we have,
F-2. JG51.15.(Span.). 'Schwarze 9'. WkNr.12746. Oblt. Ramon Escude-Gilbert. Musatschewka*. 15 Septembre 1942 accident described in one French review article. I don't remember review's name and year, sorry.
* As transcripted in said article.
As for 2:
5/JG5 in August 1942 following the written backside comments ..
Please, who is that RK holder? Horst ..who?

By the way, during August 1942 some 5./JG5 Bf109F-4s - "14" and "16" at least; maybe more - were at Banak airfield and one of them got an accident (WNr.10112).
Code is said to be "Rote 14" in accident report. Red outlined in white. Think about that
See picture on Banak airfield links to get the photos!!

Thanks for any comment you will provide us.

Regards, Franck.

Re: eBay: some interesting Bf109 photos.

Thank you Franck

As found on the net http://www.cieldegloire.com/018_escude_gisbert_r.php, although I don't think that the writing on the back side of the photo necessarily reads Musatchewka.

Re: eBay: some interesting Bf109 photos.

As for 1: It's in all probability "Мурачевка" (Muratshevka) near Shisdra north of Brjansk

As for 2: Oblt. Wulf-Dieter Widowitz, Horst (airfield, not a first name) Nautsi

Re: eBay: some interesting Bf109 photos.

... Interesting to note that Andreas is writing page 60 of "LW Fighters And Fighter-Bomber Over The Far North - Units ..."
At the bottom of the said page:

".. names were still seen on at least one Bf109E-7 (sic) of 5./JG5, this particular machine, "Red (sic) 19" *, having the name "Inge" in yellow below ..."

Without making any link with Widowitz.

* Again ... Red.

So ... And what about Airfield Carganico ??
Frankly Jorg I lost 2 hours yesterday evening looking for one Horst who wasn't Carganico!

Regards, Franck.

Re: eBay: some interesting Bf109 photos.

Oblt. Lorenz "Lenz" Bauer flew 5./JG5, "Inge"

Re: eBay: some interesting Bf109 photos.

Hello,

I let you appreciate one of the Banak's Bf109F-4.

I wrote "Rote 16" refering to said "Rote 14" accident I'm talking about.
Note colours and markings; same as our Widowitz.
Note, too, the polar bear Under front canopy ...

Site, and source of the photo, is Krigsbilder.net (Thanks to Marc on Facebook).

Regards, Franck.

There is an picture in "Eismeerjäger", vol.2, p.168, where Oblt. Lorenz Bauer is sitting on the cabin of the "Inge" but this is an Bf 109E, W.Nr.6x74 (if I see the number correct). There is an second pic with the same a/c and the same situation but with Fw. Josef Wirtz.

Our picture is an Bf 109F with an different sign (the head of the wolf is without an border) --- p.254 with the caption "Ende Juli übernimmt Oblt. Wulf-Dieter Widowitz die 5./ JG 5 vertretungsweise. Hier sitzt Widowitz in seiner Bf 109F "Inge". Zu beachten das Staffelzeichen ohne die übliche Rautenumrahmung."

Re: eBay: some interesting Bf109 photos.

Thank you for the details and explanation Jorg.
I think there was a "moustache" confusion ...
