Book about Stategic Air War 2006

Considering the publisher and size of this book, it's hard to quibble with the price tag. But it's difficult to tell how much new information will be included. However, it does cover the middle to late war period. I find it curious that East Asia is also included. Perhaps an e-mail inquiry would be in order.

I paid about that for Vol 6 (Global War) new...

I also own Vol 5/1 and 5/2 which cover the German war economy. I bought these second hand.

Volume 8 is still in the making and is actually due to be out soon.

Volume 6 in the German language was originally published in 1990, but I do not know the publishing date of the articles (pre-1990 that's for sure).

Note for those with an interest in the Eastern Front, Volume 4 comes with an extra spiral bound map booklet containing 27 fold out maps.

Hi,
That's my exact concern, how much pre 1990? I know of similar studies from the 1955 - 1960 timeframe and beleive me they are not worth $ 270, no matter what the number of pages, and especially not on this particular subject.

The articles are good, but why bother with the translations if you can get (and read) the original much cheaper?

Re: Book about Stategic Air War 2006

Most of the volumes in original German language I found were considerably cheaper (from 38 - 50€). The Oxford University Press English language volumes were all priced about the same, $270 or so. They certainly are expensive but for an old guy like me, with limited language skills, you take what you can get.

When I was searching for Vol. 6 I was unable to find a pre-owned / used copy so I bought new. Was it worth it? Maybe, but I won't complain. Even in the UK Vol 6 was priced around £170. However, if the need arises in the future I will always look for a pre-owned English edition[s].
