Saving mail and posts

Hi,

Is there any way that the mail and posts sent to and from members in the private messages section can be saved off the TOCH in our own files on our own computers ?

can this be done and if so is it easy to do ?

As my messages are nearly full to 50 in number and i do not want to loose any in case of future refs.

Alex

Dear Alex,

I don't see an easy way. You can copy and paste into a Word program, but it takes 1 to 4 procedures for each message, depending on how much you want to save.

Perhaps Ruy could add a functionality like that that exists in the threads to create a printable version. I tried that for this thread, which allowed me in a single step to copy and paste the entire thread into a Word document.

Regards,
Richard

Re: Saving mail and posts

Functionality is already in vBulletin.

Just look in your bottom right screen:

Selected Messages: Download as ...

Available options are XML, CSV & TEXT

or

Download all Private Messages as:
XML | CSV | Text

You need to tag the messages you wish to download.

Dear Ruy,

That works. It isn't pretty, but it does the job.

Re: Saving mail and posts

hello,

Thanks chaps it seems to have worked and as far as i know I have now saved the posts into my files.

Next step, delete thoses in the TOCH forum pm section.

After that I should still have them on file, I hope.

Alex
