JU88 (8L +HK) 5/9/1941
On Friday the 5th September 1941, A Luftwaffe Junkers JU88 (8L +HK) of Küstenfliegergruppe 906 flown by Unteroffizier Hermann Zeitsch , Flew into a hillside on Craiginour Hill which is part of the Fetteresso Forest West of Stonehaven. Zeitsch, B Lt.z.S Walter Both, Unteroffizier Werner Drexhage and Karl Loeffler were all killed. The aircrew are buried in the Dyce Old Cemetery.
Few things that I think are wrong. Küstenfliegergruppe 906, were based in Aalborg and had He 115s, this aircraft was possibly from the Island of Sylt - Westerland one of the North Frisian islands off the Germans / Danish coast. 8L +HK is suggested to be a B&V 138 lost off Ireland in 1940? Can anybody confirm anything on the above? Aircraft type, and number Departure airfield and mission Crew ranks Reason for crashing Date of 5/9/41 is from Gravestone at Dyce, Aberdeen |

Thanks Chaps
I notice a spelling discrepancy. The gravestone at Dyce is for Zeitsch http://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/ca...SCH,%20HERMANN |

Re: JU88 (8L +HK) 5/9/1941
Zeitsen might be due to a bad typewriter copy with a mutilated "h".
