Olt Hans Marquardt

Could anyone tell me if Olt Hans Marquardt, who was WIA 18May43 with 1(F)/122 flying a Bf109G-4, the same individual as Olt Hans Marquardt who was MIA 02Dec43 flying with 1/NAGr.12.

Re: Olt Hans Marquardt

Hello,

I bump this thread because I have exactly the same question.

And by the way, I have one source saying that on 2 December 1943 Oblt Hans Marquardt of 1./NAG 12 was wounded aboard WNr 15709 and another that he was killed aboard Wnr 18758. Both agree it was west of Fier, Albania. Can someone confirm which source is correct ?

Thanks in advance

Re: Olt Hans Marquardt

Laurent - what is the source for WNr. 18758? Per Gen.Qu.6.Abt. (mfm #12)-Vol.24 the Marquardt WNr. is 15709, but then Ltn. Ernst SÜß of 9./JG 11 is also recorded as being lost in WNr. 15709 on 20-Dec-43 per the same source, as well as with the Prien team in both 'Jagdfligerverbande, Vol. X, part 3' and in the JG 1/11 history (and presumably they had access to the NVL report). Obviously there's a problem. However WNr. 18758 is completely missing from my database, and while further information for this machine for the 44/45 period may yet show up, ya gotta wonder if this might be the correct entry for Oblt. Marquardt.

Re: Olt Hans Marquardt

This from a Bruce Lander posting on 20 Dec 2009 on TOCH!:

02.12.1943 Oblt. Hans Marquardt Bf.109G-6 (18758) White 6 - KIA LK Spitfire, W Fier.

This from CSDIC interrogation reports:

2 December 1943: Bf 109 G-6 shot down by a fighter west of Fieri/Albania, 100%, Oblt. Hans Marquardt severely WIA with bullets in his left foot.

Both of the above refer to 1./NAGr. 12. Since he was awarded the Ehrenpokal on 20 Mar 44, and since he was not posthumously promoted to Hptm., it appears that he was not KIA on 2 Dec 43.

Re: Olt Hans Marquardt

According to NVMs Olt Hans Marquardt flew both in 1.(F)/122 and 1./NAGr. 12. On 1943-12-02 he was wounded, not killed.
