Armament of Ju 88 C-2
Hi
can anyone help me out with the armament of the Ju 88 C-2 in the role of a night fighter? The more I search the more I find but the more it also contradicts. Seems to me that the "base version" of the C-2 had 1x 20mm MG FF and 3x 7,92mm MG 17, and 1x or 2x 7,92mm MG 15 for defense. But as a "night fighter version" it was supposed to carried at least 1x or 2x additional 20mm MG FF and for this the MG 15 of the C Stand(if I'm correct the one on the floor tray) was removed. So although the same version as night fighter the C-2 had more canons and less mg? With regards |

Re: Armament of Ju 88 C-2
it could mount two cannon in the forward gondola mount without need to remove the rear/down firing MG 15

There are strong indications Gunner had no legroom if MGs were installed in the Gondola.

Re: Armament of Ju 88 C-2
I guess both can be correct, you don't need to removed that MG but likely couldn't use it, so you carried it around for nothing if you didn't remove it.
I'm searching for a picture that shows a version with these additional guns, so far no luck. Has anyone here such a picture? |
