Herbert Schob victory list

Hi all

I am a bit struggling with the Herbert Schob victory list. On various sources it is mentioned he ..."
achieved 28 victories (6 in Spain, 1 East, 10 four-engined bombers)"...
I was however not able to complete the number 22 victories achieved during WWII (excluding those form Spain).
Going through his ROUGHLY unreadable Flugbuch, and noting down only UNDERLINED notes from remarks section of the FB, and putting down date for the note, I managed to build this victory list.
Can someone add or denny some of it?
Thanks for any suggestion or addings.

Re: Herbert Schob victory list

Hi,

his 10th claim was submitted on 5.7.41, 11th (I18) on 2.2.42, 12th (R-5) on 5.2.42. He noticed his first WW2 claim as 6.Abschuss.

Regards

Robert

Re: Herbert Schob victory list

Hi Peter

If you didn't know the micro films do not cover January 1944 in the west, however the unit micro films giving time and date only do, and there is one for 14th October 1943 at 1435 hrs(but e.v), my friend Leo states this is Schob, also 11th January 1944 at 1220 hrs and 29th January 1944 at 1139hrs. Why that for 14th October is missing from the daily claims micro films i cannot say, but all the others over viermots you list are also abscent except those on 6th March 1944.
That for 1st September 1939 was at 0900 hrs at an altitute of 4500 metres. That for 5th September 1939 was at 1745hrs.
I also have a Sunderland on 9th July 1940, can't remember the source, but this two are not on the micro films, probably is your for 19th July 1940. That for 6th September 1939 should(if confirmed) be on the typed out staffel micro films, or the sub v.n.e-a.s.m badly hand written micro films, but the only entry for Lg1 that day was for Ernst Zobel, so must be unconfirmed!
I believe he made twenty-eight claims, not twenty-eight confirmations.

Regards

Johannes
