Re: An Important Stuka Flying Unit

Formed December 1942 at Rechlin, also know as Panzerjägerkommando Weiss after it's commander Ritterkreuzträger Major Otto Weiss. Used Ju 87, Bf 110, Hs 129 and Ju 88.
The unit was set up to test various new methods of tank destruction such as the Ju 87 G.

Re: An Important Stuka Flying Unit

Hi, Hsiao,

The Versuchskommando für Panzerbekämpfung was an experimental anti-tank unit equipped with the first Junker Ju-87 G-1 Kanonenvogel: http://www.ww2.dk/air/misc/verpz.html

It was formed on 12/42 at Rechlin.

The Kommandeur of V.Kdo f.P.B. was Hptm. Hans-Karl Stepp.

V.Kdo f.P.B. is mentioned in StG 2 war diary (as V.f.P): http://yogysoft.de/pawel/stuka2_01.html

Between February and March 1943 it was subordinate to Pz.Jg.Kdo Weiss, under Luftflotte 4.

Some source say V.Kdo f.P.B. was based in Bryansk other in Poltava at that time.

There is a famous video of Stukas from V.Kdo f.P.B. in action in February 1943 at the Black Sea in Russia, during the battle of the Kuban Bridgehead.
