US Armed Guard Arctic 1942

Hi guys

One for our American experts, please.

I'm endeavouring to establish the name of the officer in charge of the Armed Guard aboard the ship SS Samuel Chase on the PQ17 convoy, July 1942.

Fingers crossed!
Stay safe

Brian

And for European contributors...

Name of Lt. John E. Sexton, USNR, found in online book "The Road to Russia" by Bernard Edwards.

Useful website: https://www.warconvoys.com/arctic-convoy-participants

Leendert

Hi Leendert

Good to hear from you once again - I trust that you and the family are well.

Thanks a million for the name! Actually I do have a copy of the book! and was aware of the website, but couldn't reference the latter! So double thanks.

Stay safe
Brian

Many thanks once again, Rolland.

I don't know how I'd manage without your expertise!
