Loss of Obergefreiter Erich Schiml - 22.03.44

Hi everyone,

Have looked through my reference books but could find no mention of Obergefreiter Erich Schiml who was killed on the 22nd March 1944.

He was a bordfunker in a bomber squadron who was killed on a mission fighting the English. I do not know if he was killed on a mission to England or killed in another theatre. I would dearly appreciate some additional information.

Any thanks

Rick

Ju 88 E-1, 260326, 3E+BK, 2/KG 6. Shot down by Bunting of 488 Sqn & crashed 0105 hrs Bullers Farm, Shopland, Essex. He was the Bf in the crew. Perhaps Father Xmas should have bought you such reference books as the Blitz Then & Now/history of KG 6 etc!

Dear Chris,

Shame faced to say I have all three the Blitz Then and Now! Will go off and see how I missed it. What is the other book you recommend?
Is there some way of checking Luftwaffe loss lists at source?

Rick
