Bf109E-7/U1 (U2) question
Greetings!
Friends, I am searching all possible information about this Umbau modifications of Bf109E-7. At the moment, all I could find that: U1 Wasserkühler-Panzerung - i.e. Water cooler armor But U2 - some sources claim that it was oilcooler+fuel tank+ cockpit floor armor from below... Are there any pictures or drawings of this armoring? Was that kind of armoring visible from outside?

Re: Bf109E-7/U1 (U2) question
Evgeny,
The 3 Jabo modification conditions for the Bf 109 E-7 are as follows: E-7/U1 - DB601NA, standard armament without armor, long range drop tank was an option, FuG 7, 4 x ETC 50 or 4 x 24 SD2, additional armor for radiators. E-7/U2 - DB 601A, similar to U1 but with additional light metal armor for the radiators, engine and SG container (for GM1 if fitted). E-7/U3 - DB 601A, standard armament without pilot armor, long range drop tank an option, FuG 17. 2 x Rb 12.5 / 7 x 9 aft-mounted cameras. A specialized photo-reconn and low-level attack conversion.
