1.(F)/121 losses, April 1944

Does anyone have more information on markings and Werk Nummern of two Me 410 of this unit lost on 25/26 April 1944? Crew names are given in Ron Mackay's "The Last Blitz" and ADI(K) reports, but that's all.

I'm also interested in the loss of three Me 410s of the same unit (W.Nr. 170031, 170088 and 170009), shot down by fighters - reportedly Mustangs - on a transit flight from the Paris area to Soesterberg, Holland on 20 April. Any line on markings, crews and who shot them down would be of interest. Thanks.

Hi Nick,
checking with "2nd TAF Vol 1", Fighter Command War Diaries Vol 4" and Kent D Millers book on USAAF Fighter claims I can't see any claims at all that tie in with these 3 losses on 20th April 44. ?

The NVM for these has no aircraft info. as background there was a previous thread showing Hermann Kroll (RK, Goblet of Honour) in a midair collision on 2-10-1940 in a Bf 110 while serving with 7/LG2 .

For the night 25/26. April one Wn is given at least 170032, from HW5 476

What is the origin for the losses on 20.April ??

Regarding 170032, as mentioned on my website:
NOTE: It was learned from ULTRA intercepts that “Me 410 a/c of 1.(F)/121, W.Nr. 170026 and 170032, had not returned from operational flights on 25/4 and 26/4.” If we infer the word “respectively” at the end of that sentence then Fw. Stoll was flying 170026 and Obltn. Kroll 170032; both Messerschmitts were A-3 models.
The loss of the three machines on 20 April is referred to in CX/MSS/T165/115 and CX/MSS/R170(C),11.
