Typhoon vs. Me 262

Hello!

I have some qustions about engagement between Typhoons and Me 262.
We have three engagements:
On 14.02.1945 Shaver and Fraser from 439 squadron shot down two Me 262 A-2 from 5./KG(J) 51, H.-G. Richter and W.witzmann KiA. Knows anybody Werk Number this two Me 262?

This same day Capt. Green, DFC from 184 squadron damaged next Me 262.
On 26.04.1945 W.J.Fowler, P/O J.W.Shellard and W/O H.Barrie from 263 squadron shot down Me 262 near Niebull.

Knows anybody identity pf this two Me 262 or lost Luftwaffe Me 262 this day?

And was some Typhoon lost in combat with Me 262. In Foremans FC war diaries and Franks FC losses I found nothing.

Thank you for your help!
Michal

Re: Typhoon vs. Me 262

On 26-4-1945 P/O Morgan of 263 Sqd. in RB 215 was taken prisoner after being shot down by a 262 near Niebull, following an attack on a train.
I will see if I have anything on the 262's later.

Re: Typhoon vs. Me 262

This is interesting info because Foreman nad Franks have that Morgan was shot down by flak.

Best wishes

Re: Typhoon vs. Me 262

Brian, have another look at The Typhoon and Tempest Story (p.99). It does not say Morgan was shot down by the 262. He had been hit by flak and was attacked by one of a pair of 262's "but it overshot". It was promptly attacked by Morgan's no.2 and the other two Typhoons in the formation. It was seen to dive into the ground with flames pouring from the centre section.

Re 14 Feb 45, Richter was killed in W.Nr.170068, 9K+BN, and Witzmann in 110571, 9K+HN, (source Me262 Vol.3, Smith & Creek, p.572)

Re: Typhoon vs. Me 262

Thanks Chris you are right I posted from my notes rather than the book. As regards the other 262's all I have for the 14th. Feb is Capt Green damaged a 262 and from ''The Me 262 Combat Diary'' is that an aircraft of III/JG7 was shot down and the pilot baled out, I cannot find a loss for the 263 Sqd. claim on 26-4-45 though,

And you'd be extremely lucky if you did find it, that late in the war, I'm afraid. Nothing's impossible but …
