KG3 in Russia June 1942.

Hi,according to the publication " Junkers 88 Kampfgeschwader over Russia" by
Osprey, KG3 lost eight a/c on the last day of June 1942.
Could anybody help identifying any of these aircraft for i have no losses on this date.

Best regs,
Steve.

Re: KG3 in Russia June 1942.

The KG 3 recorded three (not thirty) incidents on the 30.June 1942, none combat flights.

Our list has twenty-two (not thirty) KG 3 incidents for the entire month of June 1942, eight non-combat. The seven "100%" combat losses occurred over a ten day period, 14.-24.June.

The scholarship of the Osprey series varies.

Re: KG3 in Russia June 1942.

FYI, 30 June was just A-4 088 6661 and 6672 (2 "losses")
However on last day of July (6) and first of August (2) was total 8 "losses" (088 6648 5K+IH, 3703 5K+EK, 4653, 3795, 4613, 3695 (5K+DS) + 3732 and 0360236 5K+LP)

Mentioning various lack of, or (non-)skills, fails get proper applause.

Re: KG3 in Russia June 1942.

Thank you GRM, and Ed.
I only have in my lists the following, between 14 and 24th June 1942 these were all operational incidents;
14.6.42 W.Nr 360185 Fw.Rasch,
15.6.42 W.Nr 6761 Uffz. Kurt Schmidtke,
18.6.42 W.Nr 6692 Lt.Erich Drefahl.

I have no details for W.Nr's 6672 or 6661 on 30.6.42 or for W.Nr 3732 1.8.42.
Any further help would be appreciated on these.
Kindest regs,
Steve.

Hi GRM and Ed, could you possibly help with the missing losses im seeking.
Any help would be appreciated.

For a unit with much operational service throughout the war theres little published source material out there.

Kindest regs,
Steve.
