Fw. Strauss --> Junkers Works-Pilot or E-Stelle Pilot?

Hello,

Wolfgang Wollenweber mentions in his book a Fw. Strauss who was supposed to transfer a He 162 from Bernburg to Lechfeld. He mentions that that he was a Junkers works pilot, but I have some doubts and believe that he may have been an E-Stelle pilot.

Is anything known about a Fw. Strauss flying either for Junkers or the E-Stelle?

Thanks!

Roger

Hello Roger,

He162 built and delivered to Luftwaffe by JFM should be ‚Arbeitskreis Bernburg‘ topic. Unfortunately I have no contacts to them anymore and I am therefore not aware of this research and preservation group is still active.
An other possibility would be that Fw. Strauss’s could also be a Überführungsgeschwader pilot.

Hello Martin,

I wasn't aware that there is an "Arbeitskreis Bernburg". I couldn't find a lot of information regarding he He 162 flights from Bernburg. Most, with a few exceptions, came from Wollenweber's book.

I met Wollenweber last weekend and he told me that Strauss was a "Werkspilot", but he also remembered Seeling as a Werkspilot, but he was definately a pilot from the E-Stelle Rechlin.

PS: I just found the picture below. Strauss' name does not appear on that list.
