Emergency landing seaplane 5/12/1943 at Wuustwezel

Hi,
In “ Wuustwezel en Loenhout in de Tweede Wereldoolog “ (Wuustwezel and Loenhout during World War II) by Guido van Wassenhoven (published in 1985) is mentioned that on 5/12/1943 a German twin-engined seaplane made an emergency landing in a meadow at Wuustwezel,Belgium (near Molenbergen). The crew was unharmed and the plane was collected by the Germans a few days later.
Was this a He115 ? Any information regarding the unit and crew available ?

Many thanks and best regards,

Luc

Is the date day-month-year or month-day-year? As posted your inquiry could be interpreted as May-12-43 or 5-Dec-43. Not meant to criticize, just as a comment for clarity.

Hi,

Could this have been a He115 of Flieger-Ergänzungsgruppe (See) ?
Was this unit active over Western Europe ?

Many thanks and best regards

Luc

I have nothing as far as recorded losses are concerned - if less that 10% damaged it probably was not recorded.

Hi Thenelm,

Many thanks for your reply.

Let's hope that sooner or later a photograph of this incident appears ...

best regards
