Two pilots of 5./JG 11 claimed one P-51 each at 12.05-10 in Machlin area: Uffz Herbert Drühe (5th victory) and Ofw Wick (1st).

All victories claimed against P-51 of 8th Air Force this day (from Tony Wood's lists) (modified to have the full name, the score (or minimum score) and claims of ace or future aces in blue):
29.05.44 Fhj.Fw. Wilhelm Schorr: 13 6./JG 11 P-51 £ CF-CG-DF: 7.000 m. [Neustrelitz area] 11.58 Film C. 2027/II Anerk: Nr.22
29.05.44 Uffz. Herbert Drühe: 5 5./JG 11 P-51 £ AF-BF: 7.500 m. [Neukalen-Malchin] 12.05-15 Film C. 2027/II Anerk: Nr.333
29.05.44 Ofw. Wick: 1 5./JG 11 P-51 £ AE-BE-BF: 7.900 m. [Teterow-Malchin] 12.05-10 Film C. 2027/II Anerk: Nr.32
29.05.44 Uffz. Horst Gabel: 3 3./JG 1 P-51 £ JB-JC-KB-KC: 3.000 m. [Quedlingburg] 12.25-30 Film C. 2027/II Anerk: ASM
29.05.44 Uffz. Paul Berndt: 5 6./JG 11 P-51 £ BF, Waren area, 7.900 m. 12.34 Reference: JG 11 List f. 1210
29.05.44 Ltn. Norbert Hannig (17?) 1./JGr. Ost P-51 £ Merseburg: 20 m. 13.10 Film C. 2027/II Anerk: Nr.2
29.05.44 Fw. Nett (1?) 2./ZG 26 P-51 £ DN: 5.500 m. [Sneidermühle] 13.35-50 Film C. 2027/II Anerk: Nr.22
29.05.44 Ofw. Pingel (1?) 2./ZG 26 P-51 £ AK at 800 m. [Wollin] 14.00-15 Film C. 2027/II Anerk: Nr.

So 8 P-51 claims against 8 P-51 on the US side (6 by 8th Air Force groups and two for 9th Air Force groups escorting it). But all these American losses should be checked to see the loss reason, that may be engine failure, AA fire, collision, etc... rather than German fighters.

Re: Luftwaffe Victories and Losses May 29 1944 Malchin Area Germany

The two losses would appear to be from 369th FS, 359th FG.

359th FG was providing withdrawal support for 2BD (Liberators). The group was engaged with "60 bandits" at approximately 1200 near Stettin. The group maintained escort until 130 when they were relieved by P38s near Schleswig.

The two missing pilots were 1stLt. Lowell W "One Eye" Brundage and 1stLt. Myron C. Morrill Jr. They were reported as last being seen chasing five FW190s. Brundage was listed as KIA, Morrill as MIA.

The engagement timeframe and area of loss seem to point to II/JG11.
