Jerry Crandall

For those who might not have heard, Jerry Crandall passed away yesterday. Judy posted it on Facebook. She had posted previously that he had contracted Covid-19 and went into hospital with symptoms about a week ago.

This is a great lost to the aviation world. He was a first-class painter and researcher, modeler and publisher. He was also a great friend to many of us. He will be greatly missed.

Our simpathy to the Family.
Aviation Community do loose a member who did so much for its History.

Re: Jerry Crandall

I had spoken to Judy a few times. Jerry established a firm legacy.

May he rest in peace, oh Lord
And may perpetual light shine upon him.

Jerry Crandall

Hello

What dreadful and shocking news to read ... He was by all accounts a wonderful person and perhaps the most knowledgeable man on the Fw 190 series. His various books and aftermarket decal and resin parts for the modelling world set the standard in their field. My sincere condolence to Judy and his family and loved ones.

Leo

Re: Jerry Crandall

Very sad to hear about it. Yesterday, not knowing he was no longer with us, I was telling a friend of all his great books after we saw him in an episode of Dogfights.

Re: Jerry Crandall

Very sorry to hear that. Been in touch a few months ago and discussed the possible use of some interviews he gathered years ago. It looks it will never happen.
