any allied claim on 13 Dec. 1941 at 18.15 in the North of Morlaix airport ?
Dear all,
Any allied claim on 13 Dec. 1941 at 18h15 at the North of Morlaix airport ? I explain why this question. we found the remains of a Heinkel 111 near Morlaix airport. As per Luftwaffe Archives (thanks Matti), and also confirmed by local testimonies, this machine crashed on 13 Dec. 1941 at 18h15. It looks very much like an engine failure at take off, however, I would like to be sure that this machine was not shot down by an allied fighter shortly after take off. Thus my question..... Any allied claim on 13 Dec. 1941 at 18h15 at the North of Morlaix airport? thanks in advance, guys. GC |

GILLES,
Sadly the probability of the accident being related to an engine fire is greater than that of a RAF claim that night or day. According to Tony Woods Claims List Night 12-13. December 1941 RAF 11 Group: Night-Interception RAF 11 Gp. F.I.U. 1 Beaufighter If 19.47-22.45 Interception 0 - 0 - 1 Unident.
