Hi Clint

This is a Morane-Saulnier MS 35. Photo taken post 1923 after the introduction of the under wing "buzz numbers"

Re: Photo Morane Saulnier

Hi Stig,

Thanks for the ID.

On the subject of the MS.35, do you have a copy of Icare's Les Rois du Parasol? If so there's a follow up question I have about impressments on P.127.

Regards,

Clint

Re: Photo Morane Saulnier

Sorry Clint

I have very few Icare. They take up such a huge volume of space and contain so much useless pages that I decided a long time ago to drop them.

By now space is a very premium issue at my place....

Cheers

Re: Photo Morane Saulnier

Hello,

Currently on ebay a photo of a Morane Saulnier LA at :

https://www.ebay.de/itm/Foto-Jagd-Fl...gAAOSwdIVecfvx

Stig provides the following info:

Well I suppose it is a type LA and the unit is deff MS 31 (the Greek Archer symbol)
It was actually made into a Sanke card already during WW 1. As is almost the case the correct SFA number is blanked out by the flag on the fin, but since it is a very early photo (1915?) I would guess it is MS 90-99. I don't believe they kept the LA production going all the way to 900....

Thanks Stig.

Regards,

Clint

Re: Photo Morane Saulnier

Clint

The type L is actually a type LA (check the slab sided L vs the more rounded fuselage of the LA)

Re: Photo Morane Saulnier

Hi Stig,

Thanks for the heads up. Which really is pretty obvious. I think I'll stick to posting stuff I'm actually interested in from here on, rather than what i think might interest others, but I'm too lazy to check!

Regards,

Clint

Re: Photo Morane Saulnier

Hey Clint

I think you are doing great. There are moments when we all rely on what the seller says, no big deal as I see it

Wish you would go on posting all sorts of pics from this interesting period in aviation history. As I see it you are a master in finding both great and interesting photos. No idea how you do it. I just never find anything...

Please keep it up!!

Cheers
Stig
