Seeking ID of these two crashes from the Western Campaign of 1940

Hello,

I'm seeking identifications for these two crashes respectively reported in France and Belgium, probably during the Western Campaign of 1940, although the time period is far from certain. These may not even be German. Do any of the wreckage components in either instance provide clues to an aircraft type? In the former case, what are the two strange-looking cylinder-shaped components? Are these some kind of open access bay doors under the wings or weapons housings?

Hi Larry,

The first picture is almost certainly a Potez 63-11. The two flaps on the right you mention are the machine gun covers that were mounted below the starboard wing. Not on all aircraft, especially later series.
Unfortunately I can't find a match with any other crash pictures I have, so don't know how and where it happened. Bur clearly western campaign of course.

Second picture is just a pile of scrap metal, impossible to see what aircraft it has been.

Regards, Pieter
